In 2018 I had the pleasure of visiting Fatima, Portugal with my son, Adam. While our time there was limited, we were able to experience the beauty and holiness of the grounds, and kneeling next to each other in prayer at the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary was moving and beyond words. What a gift for a mother to be with her son in prayer, especially at such a place as Fatima!
As the feast of Our Lady of Fatima approaches, we are reminded of the simple message of Fatima: Pray. Pray the rosary. Feel free to say a prayer outdoors at the Holy Family statue at our church of St. Joseph and leave flowers; say a prayer quietly in your own home; or join others online in a Zoom prayer meeting.
There are many resources about Our Lady of Fatima (including some through Formed.org), and a short audio and article on Our Lady of Fatima can be found here Our Lady of Fatima
O God, who chose the Mother of your Son to be our Mother also, grant us that, persevering in penance and prayer for the salvation of the world, we may further more effectively each day the reign of Christ. Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
