Dear St. Max Parishioners,
Just a note of encouragement from a fellow parishioner.
Has it been a while since you attended church? It had been a while for me. I asked myself why I hadn’t attended recently during self-introspection. The fact is, I had become so used to not going, that I was finding it easier and easier to not attend, using the coronavirus as my justification.
However, I recently realized that this was just an excuse! And this excuse was really sin in my life. While respecting social distancing and hygiene, we truly don’t fear catching the virus. We’ve eaten at restaurants, been shopping and have welcomed guests into our home, while visiting others. We have even traveled by car through multiple states.
So, we went back. I can tell you that attending church again has been so comforting, so meaningful for my wife and me. In person, I am much more focused on the message, scripture readings, and music! I encourage any of you on the fence to come back to church. A couple Saturdays ago, I counted 28 open spaces for individuals or families to sit while maintaining distancing guidelines. Each of us need to make our own decisions, I’m certainly not condemning anyone for not attending, and some should not. This is a personal choice that was right for us, and has been a true blessing.
I hope to see you soon.
In Christ,
Dwayne & Nancy Ganzel
